GREEN INSIDE WINS ROUND ONE! July 13th 2004
Green Inside has won the first round in the Mohegan Sun/Clear Channel Radio sponsored "Sizzling Summer Showdown," a regional band competition. The series is part of Mohegan Sun's "Wild Wednesday Rooftop Party," a weekly gathering on the roof of the Riverview Garage filled with music, a classic car show, food, prizes, fireworks and much more. The ultimate winner receives a handsome cash prize and several nights to perform in the Mohegan Sun Wolf's Den. The rooftop party began July 7th and runs every Wednesday through the end of August. For round one, the band competed against Jeremy Hopkins to take the win. The 25 minute set included the covers "Rain King" by the Counting Crows and a punked up/rocked out version of Culture Club's "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" as well as the heartfelt Green Inside originals "Promise," "Old Town" and "Everything Is Wrong." The aforementioned originals will also be on the upcoming full-length CD, to be released later this summer. Round Two continues at Mohegan Sun August 4th. TENTATIVE PLANS FOR CD March 13th, 2004
The band has been in the studio throughout February and March recording what was supposed to be a new CD project. In an unexpected and unfortunate turn of events, the files containing all the recordings were lost. In hopes of having new music out to the fans by springtime, the band has tentatively opted to record four new songs in the studio, and add in some recently recorded live tracks as a bonus. This new music, which represents the Green Inside that is out currently performing as Gerry, Tim, Steve and Seth, will be offered as a FREE CD. Again, these plans are tentative. Stay tuned for more details. |
